Psalms 18:15, בְּרָקִים רַב “lightnings much” (der Bliße viel, Bliße in Menge); Ecclesiastes 6:3, וְרַב שֶׁיִּהְיוּ יְמֵי שָׁנָיו “although many be the days of his years.” Often i.q. enough, (it is) enough, it is sufficient, Genesis 45:28 especially in the phrase (compare מְעַט), רַב עַתָּה ohe! jam satis! “enough, now!” i.e. desist! 2 Samuel 24:16; 1 Kings 19:4 more fully רַב לָךְ Deuteronomy 3:26 רַב לָכֶם Ezekiel 45:9; Numbers 16:3, desist, leave off. (b) elder, Genesis 25:23. Pl. רַבִּים the old, Job 32:9.

(c) subst. a great man, leader, i.q. שַׂר, especially in the later Hebrew, e.g. רַב טַבָּחִים chief of the body guard, 2 Kings 25:8 רַב סָרִיסִים chief of the eunuchs, Daniel 1:3; Esther 1:8.

(d) a master, one who is skilled in any art, skilful, Proverbs 26:10. Compare Talmud. רַב doctor, excellent teacher.-Neutr. and subst. magnitude, Psalms 145:7; Isaiah 63:7.
